28 Sep Utility Meter Register
A capsule house utility meter register connects each installed meter with a service, unique identifier, physical location and approved source record. The register helps the owner and authorized service teams distinguish assets without relying on appearance or memory.
It is not a wiring, plumbing, billing or isolation guide. Qualified personnel, utility providers, approved drawings, manufacturer information and local requirements govern meter selection, installation and operation.
Define the Register Scope
List only meters within the verified project boundary. Identify whether each record relates to electricity, water, gas or another approved service. Mark provisional or provider-controlled information clearly rather than presenting it as a final project record.
Record Identification Fields
| Field | Record | Verification question |
|---|---|---|
| Service | Approved system and project boundary | Is ownership clear? |
| Identifier | Meter, asset and label references | Do physical and document labels match? |
| Location | Unit, zone, access side and reference | Can an authorized person distinguish it? |
| Source | Drawing, schedule and provider record revision | Is the source current? |
| Status | Verifier, date, exception and next action | Is an open mismatch visible? |
Keep Identification Separate from Readings
An identifier register does not validate consumption, accuracy or billing. Store readings and provider transactions in their approved systems. Avoid copying unnecessary account or personal information into a general handover register.
Update After Authorized Change
Recheck affected entries after a meter, label, location or drawing changes. Preserve revision history and withdraw obsolete copies. Link unresolved discrepancies to an owner and due date rather than marking the register complete.
The utility commissioning evidence register supports broader handover control, while the isolation label register covers isolation-point identification. To discuss utilities and documentation, contact Rovellc.
